The counselling service is aimed at:

Anyone looking for information and support on the subject of consumption and addiction,

Consumers with problematic consumption and behaviour (e.g. in connection with substance use, food and nutrition, PC/Internet/gaming and other media consumption, buying, gambling),

Children, parents, friends and relatives of consumers (especially children from families with addiction problems),

Educational professionals, multipliers and other reference persons from the social environment.

Each counselling session can be held individually or with several people involved.

Our basic principles and procedures correspond to the guidelines of accepting drug work:

Case-, problem- and situation-related counselling

Support in clarifying the current problem situation/crisis intervention as well as in realising one's own concerns and setting individual goals

Promotion of self-determination and risk minimisation

Background analysis, inclusion of the social context, systemic approach

Needs-, resource- and solution-orientated approach

Provision of information and safer-use materials

The counsellors work primarily with motivational interviewing methods and resource- and solution-oriented counselling approaches.

We work with numerous cooperation partners, including in particular the outpatient counselling and treatment centre for addicts and those at risk of addiction run by Arbeiterwohlfahrt Potsdam.

As part of our counselling work, we hand out information and, if required, safer use materials.
